Condensate Removal and Condensate Treatment
What is condensate and how to manage it?
Condensation is the moisture that drops out of an air flow as it cools. The condensation is a compressed air system is a constant threat that can cause expensive problems. The following are some examples:
- Moisture washes lubrication from air tools and production equipment, causing downtime and costly maintenance.
- An inconsistent supply of clean, dry air can cause production quality problems.
- Excessive rust and scale often form in the air distribution system, especially the pressure vessel.
- Water can back up into the compressor and wreck the machinery.
- Air dryers can become overloaded.
- Inline filters can be destroyed.
